Alisa to secure stronger position with Swiss international hotels deal

The management of Alisa Hotels in Accra and the Swiss International Hotels and Resorts has entered into an agreement aimed at re-positioning the Ghanaian hotelier to upgrade its facilities to meet world class standards.

For this reason, the Alisa hotels, located at North Ridge in Accra, would now be known and called the Swiss Spirit Hotel and Suites Alisa-Accra.

A news release issued by the partners, indicated the business deal entreated the hotel to begin with immediate effect, re-branding and rigorous staff training initiatives for a better hospitality services experience in the country.

Made up of upscale rooms and suites, the hotel is expected to “offer an extraordinary culinary experience through its signature outlet brands of Swiss Café Restaurant & Lounge, TED & CO Lounge, Inspirations Pool & Bar. Other facilities include a well-equipped health club and tennis court, plus 14 meeting rooms suitable for meetings and events for a capacity of over 1000 guests,” the statement outlined.

The statement mentioned that Swiss International Hotels and Resorts already has two hotels in Nigeria, one in Sierra Leone and a hotel in Rwanda under its current portfolio, with more projects and partnerships underway, earmarking its commitment to Africa.

The license agreement with Alisa Hotels, which takes effect from May 1, 2016, marks the entry of Swiss International into Ghana; the company’s 5th African country and consolidates its goal of becoming a leading hospitality brand in Africa and reach its objective of having 150 hotels globally by 2020.

CEO of the Swiss International Hotels & Resorts, Henri W.R Kennedie, stated: “We live in a globalized world. Travelers seek the same level of service and quality from hotels at home and abroad, indicating a growing demand for international hotel brands. Swiss International is delighted to be making its debut in Ghana.”

Responding to the deal, owner of Alisa hotels, Kwame Ofosu Bamfo, expressed that “This is an exciting time for our company as we partner with Swiss International to gain and secure a stronger position in Accra’s hotel industry. I am convinced that, under the management of Swiss International, our hotel will continue to grow from strength to strength.”
